To our oppressors and those who support you and to those of you who extend your support by remaining silent - you know who you are:
I highly advise reading, very thoroughly, Martin Luther King Jr's "Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963". You can easily substitute in many places the current issues of oppression being dealt out daily by the judges and lawyers in Alabama in regards to the family court injustices placed upon our children and parents, extended family, friends and loved ones.
It is very unfortunate that here we are now over 40 years later, in Alabama of all places, still having to fight for equality in both society and the court room.
Our founding fathers created a document that in itself provides a clear pathway to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness (all wrapped up in freedom) that this country was founded upon. It is called the United States Constitution. Very rarely do you lawyers or judges bother yourselves with this document. You took an oath to uphold and protect this document yet your actions break this oath and the trust given to you by the people. However, there are some of us "We the people" that have not forgotten it exists. We will continue to seek and demand that you elected officials honor and follow this document which will lead us out of this abyss we have wallowed in far too long.
And more importantly I highly suggest for you to search the scriptures. If you are a God-fearing, believer in our Savior Jesus Christ, then you will not find it hard to understand, nor difficult to perform the right course of action. Nothing can be done about yesterday except to learn from it and do the right thing today. Will you?
